Privacy and your choices

Updated 20 October 2026. This notice explains how Local AI Scout handles visits, newsletter subscriptions and privacy choices.

Who to contact

For privacy enquiries, write to Local AI Scout, 75 Arc House, London, SE1 3GN, United Kingdom. Please explain what you need and provide enough information for us to locate any relevant subscription record. Do not send passwords or sensitive documents.

When you browse

Local AI Scout uses WordPress and is hosted on Hostinger. Hosting, delivery and security systems process connection information, including IP addresses and request logs, to serve pages, prevent abuse and diagnose faults. These functions help us operate and protect the website.

Analytics and your choices

We use Google Analytics 4, connected through Google Site Kit, to understand visits and improve our guides. Analytics can measure pages viewed, referral sources, device and browser information, approximate location and interactions such as outbound link clicks. We do not intentionally send newsletter email addresses or names to Analytics.

The consent banner lets you allow statistics cookies, reject optional cookies or choose settings. You can reopen Privacy choices to change your decision. Essential consent cookies remember that decision. Declining statistics cookies does not prevent you from reading the site.

Google consent mode adjusts its tags to your choice. When statistics consent is denied, Analytics cookies are not stored; limited cookieless consent and measurement requests may still be sent to Google. These requests are different from consented, cookie-based visitor measurement. Read how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s explanation of consent mode.

Cookies used by this setup

Complianz cookies beginning cmplz_ remember consent choices and policy versions for up to 365 days. WordPress Consent API cookies beginning wp_consent_ record consent categories for up to 30 days. If you allow statistics, Google Analytics uses _ga and _ga_* cookies to distinguish visits and maintain session information; Google’s default lifetime is two years, subject to browser limits and expiry updates. Logged-in WordPress administrators also use authentication and preference cookies.

See the cookie policy and consent settings for more information. You can also remove cookies in your browser. We have not enabled advertising pixels or remarketing campaigns.

When you subscribe

The Scout Letter form asks for your email address and permission to receive the newsletter. The Newsletter plugin stores subscription records in the WordPress database, including confirmation status, subscription dates and technical information used to manage consent and prevent abuse. Double opt-in requires confirmation before a subscription becomes active.

Confirmation and newsletter messages use the site’s configured email service. Newsletter subscriptions are separate from your statistics-cookie choice. We do not sell the subscriber list. Unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or use your personal subscription-management link.

Service providers and retention

Hostinger provides hosting and Google provides Analytics. Their infrastructure may process information outside the UK. Each provider’s terms and privacy information describe its processing and transfer arrangements. We keep subscription records for mailing-list administration and to respect your choices; limited suppression and abuse-prevention records may remain after unsubscribing. Website logs and Analytics data are subject to the relevant service settings and retention periods.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to processing, and receive portable data. You can withdraw newsletter or statistics-cookie consent at any time. Contact us at the postal address above about a request. You may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
